What Is Radical Self-Love?
Radical self-love is the process of loving yourself, no strings attached. It is not an immediate action but a combination of various efforts that slowly and constantly leads to knowing yourself better, having a better relationship with yourself, and taking baby steps towards loving yourself.
● Radical self-love is about understanding your needs better, both physically and mentally. It is not about comparing yourself with others.
● Radical self-love is about experiencing love through yourself without another person making us feel so. It is about doing things that will make you feel special, loved, secure, confident, warm, and excited.
● Radical self-love is not only about daily affirmations for yourself, like seeing yourself in the mirror and saying, “I am Beautiful. I am perfect.” It is also about using other affirmations that ignite encouragement and emotional support in oneself. It is about saying, ‘You absolutely got your back,’ ‘you believe in yourself, you deserve this”, “you are strong enough to get through this”.
● Falling in love with another person may seem beyond your control. You can fall in love and fall out of it with no choice of yours, but radical self-love is a choice you can make for yourself. Self-love is a unique relationship you have with yourself which is under your control.
● As mentioned above, self-love is a process and a practice. A practice that needs to be followed to not feel unsatisfied within your own body. Stop society from hating yourself by making you feel insecure about yourself. That is how a capitalist society works.

Thus radical self-love is the right step towards accepting who you are, embracing your uniqueness without anyone making you feel any less about yourself. Fat, thin, slim, chubby, crooked teeth, stretch marks, dark armpits. All are acceptable. Radical Self-love is accepting each of these unique qualities of yourself and not going by any prescribed standards of beauty. Love what’s within you.
